Marker Paper Pieces of red paper cut into the shapes of flowers, Chinese characters and even butterflies, among others, have filled a section of the Handan Museum in Handan, Hebei Province. These are the paper-cutting creations of Wang Xiumei, an inheritor of this unique form of intangible cultural heritage. Many of her images depict Chinese idioms, people engaged in traditional craft making, and agriculture, that can be unfurled as lengthy murals. The paper-cutting show runs until March 10.
