North American specialty plastics developer and manufacturer Pexco LLC celebrated Manufacturing Day with the opening of the Extrusion and Engineering Center of Excellence (ECOC) at a company facility near Philadelphia, the Alpharetta, GA-based company announced Thursday.
“Too often it is said that ‘we don’t make things anymore’ or ‘manufacturing jobs have all gone overseas.’ That’s not true and the Extrusion Center of Excellence is proof,” said Pexco’s chief executive officer Neil Shillingford said in a statement. “This center exists to support the dynamic industrial plastics market all across North America and American manufacturing in particular.” Extrusion Plastic Process
The 65,000-sq-ft Morrisville, PA center will provide engineering consultation and design services for operations that require custom-extruded products or components, particularly for industrial companies providing lighting, filtration, and traffic safety products. Pexco’s facility will also serve customers from other industries that demand specialized plastic extrusions or parts that are custom engineered.
The site contains 12 extrusion lines, including three dedicated to product development, and houses engineering and production specialists. In 2014, Pexco added 20,000-sq-ft of manufacturing and development engineering production space to the Morrisville facility.
